ALIXIR Moss & Algae Inhibitor is a powerful, professional-grade renovating cleaner supplied in a concentrated liquid form for the efficient removal of extensive organic and microbiological contamination. Specifically engineered for large-scale porous surfaces, this high-performance formulation targets and eradicates moss, lichen, and algae on materials including natural stone, concrete, brick, tarmac and terracotta.
The solvent-free, acid-free and non-caustic formulation allows for safe and controlled cleaning while maintaining substrate integrity. When diluted correctly, it offers excellent coverage and cost efficiency, making it well suited to larger treatment areas.
In addition to its intensive cleaning action, ALIXIR Moss & Algae Inhibitor facilitates easier long-term maintenance by inhibiting the rapid regrowth of biological organisms, improving both the aesthetic appearance and safety of external surfaces such as patios, driveways, forecourts, platforms, decking, steps and similar external surfaces. The active formulation is engineered to protect the treated surfaces for up to one year, depending on environmental conditions.

it works
ALIXIR Moss & Algae Remover utilises an advanced biocidal formulation that, upon application, penetrates deep into the capillaries of porous materials to chemically neutralise the root systems of microbiological organisms. By disrupting the cellular structure of moss, lichen, and algae, it ensures total eradication and facilitates the easy removal of dead matter during the rinsing process. Its concentrated liquid format allows for high-ratio dilution, ensuring the active ingredients are distributed effectively across large areas to inhibit rapid biological recolonisation.
Application Instructions
Supplied as a concentrate. Shake container well before use. Remove any debris, moss or fungi if removable before application. Maximum dilution ratio: 20ml of product per 1 Litre of clean water(1 part product : 50 parts water) for a ready-to-use solution. Apply using a low-pressure sprayer, ensuring generous and even saturation across the entire area. A minimum of 4 hours of dry weather required following application. Results become evident within 24 hours, with the active treatment continuing to protect the substrate for up to 1 year depending on environmental conditions.
For optimal long-term results, protect cleaned surfaces with ALIXIR Stone Protector. Do not mix with other cleaners or acids and always consult the MSDS before use.

Coverage Rate
Figures are approximate and provided as a general guideline. Actual consumption is determined by the porosity of the substrate and the density of organic growth:

Heavy Soiling: Approximately 3m2/Litre
Light Soiling: Approximately 5m2/Litre
Note: Based on the standard 20ml per 1 Litre dilution, 1 Litre of concentrate produces enough solution to treat approximately 150m2+ depending on substrate absorption. Always perform a trial application first to ascertain more precise coverage for the specific project.
Equipment Cleaning
Clean tools and equipment immediately after use with water.
Storage & Shelf Life
Store in a dry place, away from frost and heat, in a temperature between 5°C and 30°C. Shelf life is 12 months from the production batch date when kept in the original unopened container.
Recommendations & Curing
Do not apply if rain is expected within 6 hours. For optimal efficiency on heavily weathered surfaces, ensure maximum saturation and avoid application in direct sunlight to prevent premature drying. Always conduct a trial application on an inconspicuous area to confirm material compatibility. Do not apply during rain or frost, or when surface and air temperatures are below 5°C or above 30°C. Once clean and dry, treat with ALIXIR Stone Protector to provide long-term protection and inhibit regrowth.
